Jake previously worked for nearly five years as an organizer with CLU partner Massachusetts Senior Action Council, a member-led organization that fights for seniors’ independence, economic security and dignity. He coordinated their statewide transit campaign, working with paratransit users to defeat restrictive new policies, with bus riders to fight for better service and with CLU’s Public Transit/Public Good coalition to win a low income fare. He also facilitated two of their six chapters and a new organizing drive, running campaign trainings and fighting for tenant protections, rent reductions, and a voice in local government for low-income seniors.
Prior to working at MSAC, Jake spent four years at the Public Interest Network, first as a campus organizer, then as a canvass office director, and finally as a writer and digital organizer for their national communications team. In his spare time, Jake volunteers as a tenant organizer assisting folks fighting evictions and bad conditions. He graduated from Tufts University in 2017.
