Adelaide Denkyi holds a Master of Professional Studies in Labor and Global Workers’ Rights from the
Pennsylvania State University, where she studied labor and employment law, global
workers’ rights, labor in the global economy, and the intersections of gender, race, and
labor in comparative perspective. She brings over a decade of experience with the
Public Utility Workers’ Union (PUWU) of the Trade Union Congress in Ghana. From
2010 to 2014, she served as Youth Organizer, and from 2014 to 2019 as Regional
Trustee of the Junior Staff Union, later elected Second Vice Chairperson (2019–2021) in
the Ashanti Production Region. In 2021, she held dual responsibility as Second Vice
Chairperson and Ashanti Regional Women’s Committee Chairperson, before serving as
Regional Vice Chairperson in the Senior Staff Union of Ghana Water Limited
(2021–2023). She also coordinated women workers across the Ashanti Region. During her graduate studies, she
completed a Summer 2025 internship with the Missouri Workers Center in St. Louis,
engaging in labor organizing and community advocacy.
