Dorchester Reporter – Letter to the Editor: Baker lets public utilities off the hook
On Governor Baker’s watch, the Department of Public Utilities recently rejected a proposal that would tie National Grid and Eversource’s massive performance bonuses to their ability to serve low-income families, renters, communities of color, and other traditionally disenfranchised consumers.
In a recent Dorchester Reporter op-ed, Rev. Mariama White-Hammond and Darlene Lombos highlight how this move disproportionately affects renters, immigrants, seniors, and low-income families who aren’t getting their fair share out of a program they’re paying into. It is imperative for Gov. Baker and DPU to hold these companies accountable.
